Warrant Arrest
Location: 3300 block El Camino Real
A number of months ago Officer Niesen arrested a subject who lied about his true identity. Officer Niesen learned the suspect’s true identity after he had been released from County Jail, and that he was a parole violator, and began to search for him. Officer Niesen saw the suspect as he entered a parking lot. Although the suspect again claimed to be someone else, Officer Nieson knew otherwise. The suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail under his real identity.

Under the Influence of Drugs
Location: El Camino Real and Bowers Av.
Officer Johnsen stopped a vehicle for mechanical violations. Both passengers provided false information in regards to their identities. During his contact with the suspects, Officer Johnsen determined that both were under the influence of drugs. Both suspects were arrested. Their identities were confirmed at the station.

Explosive Device
Location: Madeline Ln . and Patricia Dr.
A suspicious device was found in the road. Officers were dispatched to the scene and determined that it was possibly a crude pipe bomb. The device was approximately 6 inches in length and appeared to be constructed out of a one inch diameter P.V.C. pipe that was capped and taped on both ends. The device appeared to have had a fuse which had previously been lit.
The Santa Clara Sheriff's Bomb Squad responded and detonated the device. They found that the device had been filled with match heads. The investigation is ongoing.

Fraud
Location: 4800 block Stevens Creek Blvd.
Officers responded to a car dealership on the report of a possible fraud. The suspect came into the dealership, showed interest in a particular vehicle, and when asked for I.D. presented a photocopy of a driver’s license. As he was on a test drive, the dealership checked the suspect’s credit history and discovered it had been flagged for fraud. Upon return, the suspect was confronted and he left in a vehicle parked down the street. The reporting party flagged down a San Jose officer who stopped and detained both the suspect and the female driver. The suspect was in possession of fraudulent I.D. He had attempted the purchase the vehicle by fraud. He was arrested and booked at S.C.P.D. The fraud investigation continues.

Warrant Arrest
Location: Lafayette St. and Martin Av.
Sgt. Cummins was conducting warrant investigations and found two suspects wanted in connection with “Operation Meltdown” in a parking lot. One suspect had a warrant for $40,000 and the other had a $75,000 warrant. They were arrested and booked into County Jail.

D.U.I. / Accident
Location: 2200 block Monroe St.
The suspect collided with a red S.U.V. and a yellow Corvette. The suspect was determined to be intoxicated. She had three prior convictions for D.U.I. She was arrested and booked at S.C.P.D.

D.U.I.
Location: Lawrence Expy. and Kifer Rd.
Officer Fitzgerald was on Lawrence Expy. when the suspect vehicle passed him at about 100 MPH. Officer Fitzgerald stopped the suspect for the obvious vehicle code violation. During his contact with the suspect, Officer Fitzgerald determined the suspect was intoxicated. He was arrested and booked at S.C.P.D.

Warrant / Possession of Stolen Property
Location: 3300 block Georgetown Pl.
Officer Pate knew the suspect had a $100,000 warrant for her arrest and saw her at this location. She also had stolen credit cards in her possession. She was arrested and booked at S.C.P.D.

Burglary
Location: 2600 block Lafayette St.
Officer Bonenberger followed up on a burglary. During the previous shift, Officers Rivera and Enos had found the suspect in possession of a suspicious amount of copper. Unable to locate the possible victim, the suspect was identified and released. The suspect’s employer later confirmed that the property was stolen. Officer Bonenberger located the suspect, arrested him, and booked him at S.C.P.D.

Assist other Agency within the City
Location: Bassett St. and Third St.
S.V.D.P.S. had a suspect in custody for auto theft. The suspect pointed out stolen vehicles he and his associates had left. Four Honda Civics were identified by the suspect parked on Bassett St. The vehicles were all stolen within Santa Clara. Officers Lamendola and Lagergren assisted with the recoveries by contacting the victims to pickup their cars
